Holland Board of Public Works will be repairing a section of water main along 16th Street after a leak was discovered near the US‑31 crossing. Crews will use a pipe lining method that repairs the pipe from the inside, allowing the work to be completed without major excavation beneath the highway.
This method improves the long‑term reliability of the water system while minimizing impacts to traffic, nearby properties, and the roadway. It also significantly reduces the amount of surface restoration compared to traditional construction methods.
Traffic Impacts
Beginning Monday, April 13, westbound 16th Street will be closed between Waverly Road and Hoover Boulevard. In addition, the right‑turn lane from southbound US‑31 to 16th Street will be closed during construction.
Traffic control will remain in place through Friday, April 17, or Saturday, April 18, depending on field conditions.
Contruction Location
Work will take place on the north side of 16th Street between Waverly Road and Hoover Boulevard.
