The City of Holland has a mandatory residential refuse & recycle curbside pickup program. This is for residents that live in a single family home, a duplex, and some apartments. Collection is made once a week on a regularly scheduled pick up day. Look at the refuse zone districts map to determine what day your garbage/recycling will be picked up.
Sign up for this service by calling HBPW at 616.355.1500.
Put out garbage/recycling by 7am on pick up day. You may put it out by 6pm the night before. You must bring containers back in by midnight of pick up day. Check calendar dates for holiday pick up schedules.
To simply get rid of extra trash, extra trash bags may be purchased at the Chef Container and City Hall Treasurers Office. Or arrange for a special pick up with any licensed hauler.
Call HBPW at 616.355.1500 for: Missed pickups, damaged containers and service changes.
To order more yellow recycling bags hang the yellow request card on the handle of refuse bin. You may also call Holland BPW at 616.355.1500 to order more. Bags will not be available at HBPW for pick up. Bags can be picked up at City Hall or Chef/Republic Services.
If your scheduled day lands on a holiday, you may put out your garbage and recycling 1 day late.
