Electric Distribution

The Holland Board of Public Works' electric transmission and distribution system consists of a 24 mile loop of 138,000 Volt transmission lines and over 600 miles of both underground and overhead distribution circuits. The distribution circuits range between 120 Volts and 12,470 Volts.  We use locally generated electricity and power purchased from the national electric grid.

In order to support our system, we have staff on call 24 hours/day, 365 days/yr. Our system reliability is consistently above national averages.

Distribution Line and Extension

Extending distribution lines is guided by the Holland Board of Public Works' Distribution Line and Extension Rules and Regulation Policy.  This is also referrred to as the Electric Interconnect Policy.
