Power Outages
Lightning striking
power lines can cause fuses to blow or breakers to trip. Before calling to
report a power outage, please do the following:
- Make sure you haven't blown a fuse or tripped a circuit
breaker.
- Call a neighbor to see if the power is out there also.
- Wait 5 minutes to see if our equipment will
automatically restore the service.
If an
outage blackout occurs, please follow these steps:
- Turn off or disconnect all motor-driven appliances and
fixtures to avoid damage from electrical overload when the power is
restored.
- Try to leave an outside light switched "on"
as a visual sign to repair crews that power has been restored to your
block.
To report a power outage, call 355-1500. However, please don't call to report the
same trouble more than once. Be assured we will respond as soon as possible.
