Sanitary Sewer Main Lining - Insertion of a cured-in-place liner inside select sanitary sewer mains throughout the Holland BPW sewer service area. This is a trenchless technology to rehabilitate old sanitary sewers without the costly excavation and lengthy disruption to public services. Approximately 9 miles of sanitary sewer will be rehabilitated. Please see a
map of the proposed sewers to be lined. Work will begin in August 2011 and should be completed by December 2011. Other than a few temporary lane closures that will last about a day or two in each area, there should be no disruptions to the traveling public. Customers connected to sewers that are lined will temporarily lose service for a few hours while the sewer is lined and while the lining cures. Detailed instructions will be provided to those affected customers prior to work being done so they can plan for the service interruption.

Wyoming Water Interconnect - Plans are completed to build a water transmission main in Park Township to connect the City of Wyoming water system with the City of Holland water system for emergency purposes and for reliability. The route of this water transmission main is 160th Street between Perry and Ransom, then west on Ransom to the power line easement and then to the Wyoming Water Treatment Plant. Although bids will be opened this summer and the project will be awarded, the bulk of the transmission main construction will occur in 2012.
Sanitary Sewer Lift Station Improvements - Installation of a natural gas generator at 8th Street Lift Station.
Fairbanks Sewer Combination, 5th Street to 8th Street - This project will eliminate duplicate infrastructure in place on Fairbanks, north of 8th Street. There are currently two sanitary sewer mains, one for the township customers on the east side of the road, one for the City customers on the west side of the road. All flows from these sewers ultimately go to the same waste treatment plant. The older sewer will be abandoned and up to 2,000 feet of older sewer mains will be abandoned and some new sewer main will be constructed to redirect flows into a single collection system. This work is currently in design and is scheduled to be done in late summer and fall of 2011.
