The following projects are being planned for the future of Holland. These projects are contingent upon having available funding in place for completion. Other projects may crop up and take priority over these future projects as conditions warrant. Furthermore, there may be specific funding opportunities that arise between now and then that dictate wise use of resources on different projects.
Upcoming Projects in 2012
Lincoln Avenue Resurfacing, from 24th Street to 32nd Street. Pavement resurfacing with select replacement of water mains and sanitary sewer mains.
Lincoln Avenue Reconstruction, from 16th Street to 24th Street. Replacement of all water mains, minor sanitary sewer interceptor improvements, total pavement reconstruction including new curb and gutter, enclosure of ditch and storm drain along the road.
Sanitary Sewer Lift Station Improvements:
- Country Club Lift Station - New electrical and bubbler control panels, surge suppression, install immersible pump motors, install natural gas generator with automatic transfer switch.
- 16th Street Lift Station - New electrical and bubbler control panels, surge suppression, install immersible pump motors, install natural gas generator with automatic transfer switch.
- Steketee & Beechwood Lift Stations - Variable speed drive motors on pumps, install natural gas generators with automatic transfer switches, and surge suppresson on electrical feeds.
- Paw Paw Lift Station - Replace pumps.
Upcoming Projects in 2013
Ottawa Avenue, 31st to 32nd Street. Reconstruction of sanitary sewer main and water main. The City of Holland is looking to replace portions of the storm sewer main between 24th Street and 32nd Street. There will be a loop connection of two different water mains at 24th & Ottawa also.
West 19th Street Reconstruction, from Cleveland Avenue to River Avenue. Replacement of all water mains, all sanitary sewer mains, storm sewer improvements, total pavement reconstruction including new curb and gutter.
South Shore Drive Resurfacing, from Old Orchard to Ottawa (17th Street) - The roadway will be resurfaced and the Holland BPW will increase the sanitary sewer main size on South Shore Drive between Old Orchard and Myrtle.
